Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Monomi (the "Service", available at https://www.monomi.app) collects, uses and discloses Your information, and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You. The Service is operated by Sausito LLC, 30 North Gould Street, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, United States ("the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our"). For the purposes of the GDPR, the Company is the Data Controller.
By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
How Monomi works
Monomi gives You a prompt to paste into the AI assistant You already use (such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini). Your AI answers each question with one word (and, optionally, a short reason) and sends You back to Monomi through a link that contains those answers. We then turn the answers into a board and a video.
- We never access Your AI account, chats or memory. We only receive the words and reasons Your AI writes into the link You choose to open.
- Your AI provider processes the prompt under its own terms and privacy policy. We have no control over that processing.
- The answers travel inside the link itself. Anyone You share that link with can see them, so share it only with people You want to see Your board.
Data We collect
Data You give Us
- Account data: Your email address. If You continue with Google, We also receive the basic profile Google shares (name, email address and profile picture). We do not use passwords.
- Your Monomis: when You save a board, We store the drop You played, the AI You used, the language, the questions, the one-word answers and the reasons Your AI gave.
- Invites: when You send a Monomi to someone, We store the drop, the language, the questions and the one-word answers (never the reasons Your AI gave) under a short link, so the person You send it to can play the same questions and compare boards. Anyone with that link can see those answers, so send it only to people You want to see them.
- Your photo (optional): if You add a photo to open Your videos, We remove its metadata (including location) and have an AI model check it is safe to use before storing it privately. It is used only in Your own videos, and You can remove it at any time, which deletes it.
- Preferences: for example, whether You want an email when a new Monomi drops.
- Purchases: a record of what You bought (which board You unlocked, or Your Monomi+ plan and its status). Payments are processed by Stripe through Link, which acts as merchant of record; card details never reach Our servers.
- Messages: anything You send Us by email.
Data collected automatically
Usage Data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, time and date of visits, the actions You take in the Service (for example, opening Your AI, sharing a video or buying a board), and diagnostic data. It is collected by our hosting infrastructure and our analytics provider (PostHog). Analytics events never include Your answers, Your AI's reasons or Your email: We remove them from every address before sending.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep You signed in and to protect Your account. Outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, We also use an analytics cookie (PostHog) to understand how the Service is used, under a pseudonymous id. In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics run without cookies or any other storage on Your device. We do not use advertising cookies.
Session recordings
Outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, We may record how You use the Service (taps, scrolling and what is shown on screen, including Your answers and Your AI's reasons) to find problems and improve it. What You type, such as Your email, sign-in codes or pasted links, is masked and never recorded. Recordings are stored by PostHog, are only seen by Our team, and are deleted after at most 90 days. We do not record sessions in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland.
How We use Your data
- To provide the Service: build Your board and video, save Your Monomis and let You download or share them.
- To pick images for Your answers: the answer words (never Your email or identity) are sent to AI models to choose and generate matching photos. Generated images are stored by concept (for example "peony") and reused for everyone who gets the same answer, without any link to You.
- To manage Your account and sign You in, including sending one-time sign-in codes by email.
- To contact You about Your account and, if You opted in, about new Monomis. You can opt out at any time.
- To process purchases, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To analyze usage and improve the Service.
We do not sell Your Personal Data, and We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may also disclose Personal Data if required by law, to protect Our rights or the safety of users, or as part of a merger, acquisition or asset sale (We will give notice before Your data becomes subject to a different policy).
